Will It Fit Your Caravan?

Tyre size compatibility

There are two measurements to check, and your spare needs to pass both:

Width - 320 mm or less. That's the first number stamped on your sidewall. On a 265/70R17, it's the 265.

Overall diameter - 850 mm or less. In plain terms, that's roughly a 33-inch tyre. A 33 fits comfortably; a 35 is too tall.

If you're running a 265/75R16, a 235/85R16 or a 285/70R17, you're well inside both limits. The sizes that catch people out are the wide-and-tall combinations - a 305/70R17, for instance, sneaks under the width limit at 305 mm but measures 859 mm in diameter, so it doesn't fit. Same story with 35s.

Easiest check: read the first number on your tyre sidewall for width, then work the diameter from the full code - (rim inches × 25.4) + (2 × width × aspect ratio). Not sure? Send us your tyre size and we'll confirm it before you buy.

Weight & mounting

The complete kit weighs 11.5 kg. It sits over your spare tyre on a standard rear tyre carrier - no brackets to fabricate, no fuss, no tools required. The geometry hugs the tyre so the pit stays put across corrugations and on rough tracks, and it won't push your spare carrier past its rating.
